New blocking of Shoovy on Kick: what is known about the scandalous ban of the IRL streamer
Streaming platform Kick has imposed sanctions against content creator Shoovy. This streamer is known for his real-life broadcasts (IRL) and has attracted attention more than once, including thanks to past scandals. His manner of conducting broadcasts often becomes a magnet for increased attention of the audience.
The current blocking was not the first for Shoovy. Previously, his channel had already been suspended after he was arrested live. Now he is again in the field of view of the Kick administration.
Why did Shoovy get banned?
Shoovy himself commented on the situation on social networks. He claims that the ban was issued because of his attempt to dissuade a certain person from doing things that could lead to him being imprisoned. The streamer said that he was blocked when he tried to help someone "change their life for the better." Some viewers familiar with Shoovy's content supported him, noting that the platform should not have blocked the streamer for trying to prevent potential criminal acts.
Paul "Ice Poseidon" Denino, who had been streaming with Shoovy shortly before the incident, added that they were allegedly "doing community service." However, these explanations seem to have not been enough for Kick. There was information that the person with whom Shoovy communicated could be a minor. If this is confirmed, such interaction is a direct violation of the platform's terms of service.
There is another possible reason for blocking. It is reported that Ice Poseidon allegedly demonstrated a toy gun during the broadcast. This could also be the basis for action on the part of Kick. The platform has previously banned streamers for displaying weapons on the air, no matter if they were real or fake. For example, Cameron "Cuffem" Amos was also recently banned for allegedly showing a toy weapon during a live stream.
Past incidents and fan reaction
While Shoovy is trying to take a moral stance on the latest ban, some fans have been skeptical of his claims given his past. Shoovy's previous ban on Kick occurred after the streamer was arrested by the police. He was accused of illegally entering an abandoned military base. At that time, the content creator was eventually released from custody, and the ban on Kick turned out to be temporary, which allowed him to resume streaming. However, an incident when someone is arrested on live television rarely goes unnoticed.
At the moment, it is not known exactly how long Shoovy will stay in the bathhouse. According to some reports, his channel could be blocked for a period of three to seven days. Screenshots of the alleged letter from Kick, which indicated the blocking for three days, were distributed on social networks. Later, another "letter" appeared, where the period was increased to seven days, and then another, where the period was again returned to three days. Shoovy himself has not yet specified when exactly he will be able to return to the broadcasts.
